Hanscoach Hansi Flick from Barcelona will run the rule over different La Masia youth during the preseason, but one player who was on his radar has been ruined by a cruel injury-Klap-Waard earring his chances of promoting a promotion to the first team.
Last weekend Barcelona started their preseason schedule and as part of this a number of talents in La Masia trained with the first team. Among them was Ibrahim Diarra, who came to the club last December, and had a big impact during his short time in Catalonia.
Diarra, who can play on both wings and as an attacking midfielder, made an impression on Flick and his coaching staff last week, and the plan was that he was recorded in the team for the tour through Asia. However, this will no longer be the case.
In a statement, Barcelona has confirmed that Diarra has sustained a thigh injury, which has eradicated him with the pre-season tour through Asia.
“Ibrahim Diarra has a muscle crack in the rectus femoris of his right leg. He will not travel with the first team for the Tour in Japan and Korea, and his return to team dynamics will be determined on the basis of his recovery progress.”
MD has speculated that Diarra will be out for 3-4 weeks, which means that he will not continue to play in the preseason. It is a big blow to him, because his chances of making his claim to the first Barcelona team have had a considerable setback.
However, everything is not lost for Diarra, who will probably be regularly involved for Barca Atletic during the 2025-26 season. He will certainly have opportunities to impress film if he plays well for the B team, so a promotion in the next 12 months is not excluded.
