Barcelona was left after Nico Williams' decision not to become a member, instead signed a new contract with Athletic Club. They are back to a square with regard to the search for a new left wing player, where one of their goals is Marcus Rashford.
Rashford is one of the two leading goals that Barcelona has for the left -wing position, and the advantage that he has compared to Luis Diaz is that he is absolutely desperate to make the switch to Catalonia this summer. He seems to have no future at Manchester United, who will also make a deal for the La Liga champions easier.
And as a result, Barcelona is now taking steps to conclude a deal for Rashford, in which Santi Aouna (via caughtside) reports that conversations will be held at Man United in the following week.
Barcelona was willing to pay € 62 million for Williams, but because of their well -documented financial problems, they would rather not save a lucrative amount on a new signing. And they could avoid this with Rashford, which they hope to loan with an option to buy, instead of an obligation.
The advantage for Barcelona is in this situation that Rashford is very priority to moving to the Spotify Camp Nou, despite interested in a number of top clubs in Europe – including Bayern Munich. This also means that Man United is at a disadvantage in their efforts to discharge the 27-year-old, who is one of their highest earners.
It is still to be seen whether Rashford will make the switch to Barcelona this summer. The purpose of sports director Deco is still to give Diaz priority, but a deal for him with Liverpool is much more complicated. And that is another advantage that the man has United Man.
