This week saw interest from Juventus in Barcelona defender Ronald Araujo, with the Bianconeri keen to secure a loan with the obligation to buy the Uruguayan in the summer. The latest reports also say that Araujo has given the green light for a move.
According to a report from GdS, Araujo has accepted an offer from Juventus in case they can agree a deal for the centre-back with Barcelona. However, Marca say the Blaugrana have doubts about their bid. They are in contract talks with Araujo and have no indication from the player that he wants to leave, nor do they have any information about ongoing talks between Juventus and Araujo. All in all, the Catalan giants are suspicious of the whole story.
It would certainly be surprising if Barcelona agreed to let Araujo leave in January, especially as a loan deal would not allow them to immediately strengthen an already thin squad. On the other hand, it would guarantee them income from Araujo, and if they don't get a contract extension with him in the next six months, his value will drop.
