Barcelona looked as if they had all but won the race to sign Jonathan Tah from Bayer Leverkusen with the Germany international out of contract this summer. Bayern Munich and Real Madrid were interested in the 28-year-old and his future could be up in the air again.
Tah had agreed terms with Barcelona and was about to sign a pre-contract with the Blaugrana for next summer. If Juventus succeed in their attempts to sign Ronald Araujo, it would virtually write his name on the contract. Still, Sport says the Uruguayan defender's future could determine what happens to Tah. Should Araujo extend his contract with Barcelona, the signing of Tah will move from away to standby.
Araujo is said to have been persuaded to sign a new deal, but one that included a release clause that other teams would consider 'accessible'. Diario AS notes that his contract extension could be somewhat 'artificial', and a deal that would allow Barcelona to secure more money for Araujo if he decides to leave this summer.
