Barcelona threaten to take La Liga target away from Arsenal

Barcelona has started setting up goals for the summer transfer window and one position that can be tackled in goalkeeper. The expectation is that Inaki Pena will leave after he has been displaced by Wojciech Szczesny, who is only contracted to the Catalans for the rest of the season.

Barcelona would like to sign a long-term replacement of Marc-Andre ter Stegen, and one of the players who has assessed the club's sports department in recent months is Joan Garcia, who plays for local rivals Espanyol. This season, the 23-year-old has been one of the best keepers in La Liga, and that is why a summer deviation seems to be increasingly likely as the lovers have grown.

Arsenal tried – and failed – to sign Garcia last summer, but they are expected to make their movement again before the start of the following season. And according to Cadena Ser it is they who are favorites to secure his services.

Barcelona's interest in Garcia, however, threatens Arsenal. The Catalans have spoken with Espanyol and the entourage of the player in recent weeks to understand his current situation and the conditions of his release clause, which is said to be in the region of € 25-30 million.

Goalkeeper is not a priority position for Barcelona in the summer transfer window, but they are willing to go to the market if an opportunity occurs – and Garcia could be.

Garcia would like to be a starter in his new club in the event that he leaves Espanyol, and this is where Arsenal is short. If he moved to Noord -London, he would only be replacement behind countryman David Raya, who has been one of the best keepers in the Premier League in recent seasons, so it would not be easy to move it at all.
