Barcelona will lose Academy Starlet Pau Prim in the Middle East, with an agreement reached to bring the 18-year-old midfielder to Qatar. The talented La Masia product is regularly for Barca Atletic this season until the turn of the year, when he was omitted from their competitions.
That is because of his contract situation, with his current deal at the end of the season, and talks about a new deal apparently cold. As a result, the Blaugrana took him out of the team, but have now negotiated with Qatari-Kant Al-Sadd, the former club of Xavi Hernandez. Fabrizio Romano says that an agreement has been reached between the two teams and Prim will leave the Catalan Sdie during the January transfer window.
Romano implies that Prim's contract in Qatar would be considerable – he had also attracted interest from Saudi -Arabia. Al-Qadsiah was reportedly in conversation with Prim, who can sign a lead where he currently wants. It is still to be seen whether Barcelona will receive a reimbursement from the deal.
Prim, 18, was tipped for a long time to be part of the first team in Barcelona. Although there was little certainty about whether he would be a success, Prim was chosen as the most similar player that La Masia had stylistic of his time in the club at the age of 16.
Although Gavi, Pau Cubarsi and Lamine Yamal have all skipped stages to reach the first team, Prim still had to get the first team, with Marc Bernal jumping him earlier this season. Prim is perhaps not the only talent from Barcelona Academy that also goes to Asian football, with Unai Hernandez and Arnau Pradas in conversations about a move to Saudi Arabia.
