Barcelona went during the international break last March with a lot of hope in La Liga, and a chance in the Champions League, but above all the atmosphere around the club was defined by uncertainty. A year later, the arrival of Hansi Flick Barcelona was in better shape than anyone might have been able to imagine.
Flick has the Blaugrana in all three major competitions, after he has already secured the Spanish Sueprcup in January, and a victory at Osasuna will see Barcelona in the last ten games with a three-point advantage at the top of the League table. Despite the fact that he brought in Pau Victor and Dani Olmo last summer, Flick took a lot from Academy Products Marc Casado and Gerard Martin, while he turns around, such as Pedri, Frenkie de Jong, Raphinha and Alejandro Bangde.
According to Sport, Barcelona wants to reward the film for his work. Director of Football Deco wants to avoid any possible speculation during his future and will offer him an extension of a year to his deal, so that he would be committed until 2027. After a low-ball offer in the summer, Barcelona Flick will offer a considerable wage increase. There is little doubt about an agreement, but Flick prefers to sit down and negotiate at the end of the season.
The Catalan daily says that Flick is very satisfied in Barcelona, but does not like long -term contracts, and as such the extension will only be a year longer. Both Club and Manager are tailored to the idea that Barcelona should continue to build around their academy talents, and stability is a priority for the Blaugrana. That said, there are one or two positions that Flick would like to see reinforced in the summer.
If that extension is completed, it would also extend his deal outside the term of office of President Joan Laporta, with elections planned for next year. Presidents of Barcelona tend to set their successors in a different direction with regard to the management post, although Laporta intends to retain its position – if Flick delivers titles this season, his chances will be considerably increased for this.
