Barcelona is still looking for their new signing at attack this summer, with athletic club wing Nico Williams firmly in the rearview mirror. The Catalan side could not convince Williams and his agent that he would be registered without problems, but a message that was sent to the Basque player helped to implode the deal.
The primary reason for a breakdown in negotiations was that Barcelona could not give any guarantees that Williams would be registered without problems before the end of the summer. The next morning Williams's contract renewal was announced.
