Barcelona is quite looking for a sale this summer. The word went in May that director of the football deco saw very little of his team as essential and would listen to offers for most of the team. The newest player to be advertised to the output door is Marc Casado.
Earlier, Fermin Lopez and Ronald Araujo were both cited as players that Barcelona would listen to, if they reached the right price. Nevertheless, both have made it clear both publicly and privately that they are not going to leave.
Earlier this week, Chelsea and Atletico Madrid would both keep an eye on Casado, who made his Spain debut this season. It seems that the latter gets a deal for Johnny Cardoso over the line, but Barcelona is open to negotiations the last.
Now Sport has added further details and claims that an offer from Chelsea was near € 50 million to arrive for Casado, then Barcelona would be willing to do business. Barcelona believes that they have enough options in midfield, and Casado were to light an exit too, then they think it would be a useful sale.
Casado had a brilliant opening of the campaign last year, but eventually lost his place to Frenkie de Jong in the second half of the season. Moreover, Marc Bernal returns to the fold after repairing his cruciate ligament injury. Gavi also competes for a place that can get deeper.
However, after he had followed a chance and given his fighting character for so long, it would be a surprise if Casado accepted a switch to Chelsea. He has a contract until 2028 and a release clause of € 100 million.
