Barcelona working multiple avenues to secure Dani Olmo registration for remainder of 2024-25 season
Barcelona's financial problems in recent years have been well documented, and while things have improved, there is still a long way to go before parity can be restored. An immediate concern is the inability to sign Dani Olmo for the second half of the 2024-2025 season, which is not currently possible due to the significantly low first-team wage bill.
Olmo could only be registered in the summer due to Andreas Christensen's long-term injury, but that route will be closed from January. It means his registration will be revoked unless Barcelona can generate revenue in the coming weeks.
According to Marca, several ways are being investigated by club bosses. One of these is the recently announced Nike deal, which Barcelona is trying to show is more valuable than La Liga initially estimated. In addition, more sponsorship is being sought.
It remains to be seen whether Barcelona can take the necessary steps to ensure Olmo is registered for the second half of the season. They will need that as he is more important to Hansi Flick.
