Barcelona’s Olmo out for three weeks with adductor injury

Barcelona midfielder Dani Olmo will be out for about three weeks after an adductor injury during their 3-0 win over Osasuna.

Olmo converted from the penalty place to score his seventh league goal of the season before taking the field in the 28th minute of Thursday's game.

Barca's victory, in a match that was moved from earlier this month after the death of Club Doctor Carles Minarro Garcia, took them three points from second place Real Madrid in Laliga.

But they could now be without OLMO for a crucial series of competitions, including a quarter -final double header from the Champions League against Borussia Dortmund.

A medical update that was released by the club on Friday said: “Tests performed this morning have confirmed that player Dani Olmo of the first team has a correct adductor injury.

“He is expected to get out of three weeks.”

The Blaugrana guestheer Girona in their next league match on Sunday, before visiting Atletico for the second stage of their Copa del Rey Semi-final on Wednesday, with that draw on 4-4 after the first meeting in Catalonia.

They are at home in the first stage of their European draw against Dortmund on April 9, before they go to Germany six days later for the return setup.

OLMO has scored eight goals and delivered five assists in all competitions this campaign, after he arrived in a relocation of € 60 million from RB Leipzig last August.
