Battle For Undisputed  Tonight: Katie Taylor vs Amanda Serrano 2

The most popular fight to air on Netflix on Friday night is undoubtedly Mike Tyson vs. Jake Paul, but the high-level boxing match is undoubtedly the most important as undisputed super lightweight champion Katie Taylor will defend her crown against unified featherweight champion Amanda. “The Real Deal” Serrano.

Katie Taylor and Amanda Serrano are two pioneers responsible for taking women's boxing to the next level. Taylor is an undisputed two-weight world champion, and Serrano has won world titles in seven different weight classes.

After years of traveling in their own ways and building their individual legacies, Taylor and Serrano would finally come together to make history. In April 2022, Katie Taylor and Amanda Serrano became the first female boxers to headline a boxing card at Madison Square Garden in New York.

In the battle for Katie Taylor's undisputed lightweight crown, southpaw Amanda Serrano appeared to be in control for the first half of the fight, pressing forward and throwing the heavier punches. In the fifth round, Serrano hurt Taylor when she hit her multiple times with a series of solid shots.

During the second half of the fight, Taylor was able to retreat by using movement and masterfully parrying the back foot. At the end of the exciting 10-round match, Katie Taylor earned a split-decision victory with scores of 94-96, 97-93 and 96-93.

Six months later, Taylor made another successful title defense when she defeated Karen Carabajal by unanimous decision. Katie Taylor would move up to super lightweight to challenge undisputed world champion Chantelle Cameron.

It was a homecoming game for Taylor as the game took place in Dublin, Ireland. The homecoming fight did not end the way Taylor expected as Cameron won by majority decision. Six months later at the same venue, Taylor avenged the loss and became an undisputed two-weight world champion.

Now 38-year-old champion Katie Taylor (23-1, 6 KOs) is ready to make the first defense of her undisputed super lightweight crown. She was successful against Serrano in 2022 and Taylor is confident history will repeat itself on Friday night.

After falling short against Katie Taylor in April 2022, WBC, WBO featherweight champion Amanda Serrano collected another title in her division as she defeated Sarah Mahfoud to win the IBF title. Serrano was scheduled to fight another world champion in February 2023 when she defeated WBA champion Erika Cruz.

With the win, Amanda Serrano became the first Puerto Rican boxer, male or female, to win the Undisputed Crown in the Four Belt Era. Serrano made more history in October 2023 when she defeated Danila Ramos in a match consisting of twelve three-minute rounds.

Now, 36-year-old Carolina, Puerto Rico native Amanda Serrano (47-2-1, 31 KOs) will enter Friday night's bout in an attempt to make more history. If she can beat Taylor, Serrano will join Katie Taylor and Claressa Shields as the only female boxers unchallenged in two weight classes.

In her Friday night rematch against Taylor, Amanda Serrano will look to get ahead, use her jab to set up her power shots and attack the body. Katie Taylor wants to control the distance, fight from the outside and take advantage of counter punches.

Friday night, live on Netflix, the long-awaited rematch between Katie Taylor and Amanda Serrano will finally take place. The first fight was an instant classic and the rematch on Friday night is guaranteed to be another epic fight.
