
Bayern Munich -defender Hiroki Ito has sustained a broken midfoot in his right foot for the second time in less than a year.
The setback comes only a few weeks after his comeback from the first injury, the Bundesliga leaders confirmed on Sunday.
ITO, who broke his Metatarsal in July after arriving in Munich and did not return until last month, was brought to St Pauli in the 58th minute in Saturday, but was injured in the game late.
“He has had a repeat of a break in his right coators, a scan of the FC Bayern Medical Team,” the club said in a statement.
“Ito, who moved from VFB Stuttgart to Munich last summer, is no longer available for Bayern for a long period.”

He is the third defender excluded in the last few days after injuries to Dayot Upamecano and Alphonso Davies while he had international service a little more than a week ago.
Bayern, who leads the Bundesliga title race with a six-point advantage and seven more games, under the face inter in their Champions League quarter-final first stage on 8 April.
“The news of another serious injury to Hiroki is touching all of us very hard. He has only just been brought back after months of rehabilitation and will now be out for a long time – we can hardly imagine how he feels,” said Bayern Board -member for Sport Max Eberl in a statement.
“After the injuries to Alphonso Davies and Dayot Upamecano, we have now lost a third defender in a short time. We will now bundle our forces even more to continue to pursue our goals.”
