Bayern Munich sporting director Max Eberl says negotiations for Alphonso Davies are continuing after reports that his agent would hold new talks with other candidates.
Agent Nedal Huoseh was in Munich for negotiations last week and despite reports of progress, he left Bavaria today without agreeing a new deal. It has opened the door for his other suitors, Liverpool, Manchester United, Manchester City and especially Real Madrid, to move for him. However, Eberl remains positive about the prospect of a new contract.
“Patience is not one of my qualities. The conversations are good and open, discussions are part of that. It's legit.”
“We will continue to try to make the best decision. The talks are still ongoing,” he stated, as quoted by Fabrizio Romano.
Reports in Spain say Los Blancos are much more positive about their prospects of signing Davies after talks failed to come to fruition this week. The 24-year-old left-back agreed a deal with Real Madrid early last year, but as Bayern have significantly increased their offer, their attitude has become much more pessimistic. It is believed there is a difference of €1-2 million between the Bayern camp and Davies, but their offer is also described as final.
