Bayern Munich defender Alphonso Davies edging closer to Real Madrid snub
Alphonso Davies' future, which has been the subject of much speculation over the past year, should be resolved in the next two to three months. The 24-year-old left-back has been heavily linked with a move to Real Madrid following the expiry of his current contract with Bayern Munich, which expires next June. However, there is now more confidence in Bavaria that he will indeed stay.
So far there has been no agreement between Davies and Bayern due to the former's contract demands, but according to Sport1 (via Sport) these have now been reduced. As a result, he is believed to be moving closer to signing an extension with the Bundesliga giants.
Real Madrid have been confident of signing Davies as a free agent for months, although those dreams could well go up in smoke. Ferland Mendy's significant decline this season makes the Canadian's signing a priority, but at this stage it is far from certain that this will happen.
