Bayern Munich destroyed in savage transfer attack after Florian Wirtz failure

Bayern Munich did not want to punch for Florian Wirtz, where the Germany International eventually went to Liverpool in a potential £ 116 million deal, and now the German champions are not willing to meet Stuttgart's price tag for Nick Woltemade – leading to a war war between Uli Hoeness and Lothar Matthaus

After missing Liverpool New Boy Florian Wirtz, Bayern Munich has to step into the real world when it comes to transfers. That is the opinion of the Germany -legend Lothar Matthaus, who in his last word war in his former club tears with Bayern's honorary doctor, Uli Hoogeness.

The German champions lost last month in the fight to sign Wirtz, after they have not closed a deal with Bayer Leverkusen. Their use of the media in the past 12 months to try to make a deal from Bayer and to lower the price, did not go well with the Wirtz family, for whom a last meeting with Bayern bosses – including head coach Vincent Kompany – was the last drop.

When a lack of clarity about his role was presented in the team, it was a stark contrast to some Liverpool -Baas Arne Slot showed, and added to their accident at Bayern's public proclamations in the previous year, Wirtz chose to move to the Premier League and Anfield.

Bayern felt so long that the player was in the bag, but was very wrong.

Now they try to enter a similar path as Land Stuttgart Hotshot Nick Woltemade. In the midst of claims of an agreement between Bayern and the player, those roots become public again and admits that they will not come close to Stuttgart's £ 68 million price tag, and that a more acceptable fee must be found. It was decided that Bayern would rather pay £ 50 million.

That led former Star Matthaus that their appreciation of Woltemade was “too low”. Quite lukewarm in truth – only heightness then stated that the former captain of Germany “had lost his mind”.

He added: “I have been tired of these so -called experts for some time. With comments such as this Put Matthäus pressure, especially on Stuttgart. Ultimately, the club will look if the loser is lower if the transfer costs are lower.”

It is not surprising that Matthaus did not take Hoeness's comments at the low scope and gave his own answer in Bild. He explained hookness “lives in his own world” and used Bayern's failure to land Wirtz – and the £ 116 million compensation that Liverpool could eventually pay – to make his point.

“I have to say that I am used to the insults of Uli Hoonheid and I no longer take them seriously. He has been doing that for 20, 25 years,” Matthaus said. “I don't let it achieve; that makes your thick skin. Uli Hoogenheid still lives in his own world and has still not understood that not only football, but also the company has evolved.

“I am aware of what is happening on the market. I mentioned € 80-100 million as a possible price [for Woltemade]But Uli Hoeneß apparently did not read it again.

“He is only interested in attacking other people to distract from his own mistakes. I know the market, both in his own country and internationally. And I still believe that this assessment is correct. [Jamie] Gittens cost around € 60 million [to Chelsea] and is not even an international player, and he also had a worse season [than Woltemade].

“I predicted for Florian Wirtz many months ago that the total package would be € 250 million – and that is what happened. These are just the figures nowadays.

“At FC Bayern, things are only seen from one side. If I think of Jamal Musiala: Bayern would like much more for him than Wirtz Cost. Bayern would like € 180 million. So why is Wirtz not € 150 million or Woltemade € 80-100m?

“Uli hookness lives in his own world. He may no longer be up -to -date with the transfer market. Bayern Munich wants a player who now has that market. As a reminder: FC Bayern already spent € 80 million in 2019 to Lucas Hernández.

“Highness should investigate internally: why have FC Bayern and their scouts not discovered Woltemade before, why have they now only become aware of him? With Woltemade, VFB management has done a much better work. Instead, FC Bayern Joao Palhinha has brought for € 50m, who has only been a back -complete player.

On the subject of 22-year-old Wirtz, Matthaus admits that he was intrigued by the “big challenge” he has taken in moving to England and is clearly impressed by the decision of the head of New Boy.

“Personally, I also thought that Florian would want to stay in Germany in the coming years. He will take on a big challenge. It is not just a new club: it is a new mentality, a new language,” said Matthaus. “But this step also shows that he is not afraid. Florian Wirtz believes in himself 100 percent – and rightly so: I have absolutely confidence in him that he will make it in Liverpool and in the Premier League.

“He doesn't have to hide from anyone. A year before the World Cup, the move is also a risk, a jump in the unknown – but his friends and family will certainly support him very well.”
