Bayern Munich set sights on €60m Real Madrid target after failed Florian Wirtz pursuit

Real Madrid can be looking for a new attacker this summer, but their leading target runs the risk of being poached by Bayern Munich, who are hunting after they have missed Florian Wirtz.

In recent years, Bayern de la Liga market has closely monitored. They signed Marc Roca from Espanyol in 2020, and more recently Bryan Zaragoza signed from Granada last year. And although that deal has been a disappointment, they have set their sights on another attacker who is active in the top flight of Spanish football.

And that player is Nico Williams. As reported by Sport Bild (via Diario AS), Bayern has identified the Athletic Club wing player as a leading alternative to Wirtz, which is expected to sign for Liverpool in the coming weeks.

But Bayern will not all have it in their own way in their pursuit of Nico. Real Madrid has also recently performed their interest, while Arsenal also regards him as a leading target for their left position.

It seems that this summer will be another that is full of speculation for Nico, who was chased by Barcelona in 2024. Athletic will be Nervy about the possibility of losing their valued attacker, although there is some trust that he will reject all progress for the stay in Bilbao.

Los Leones will have to have faith because they can be powerless to prevent a deal from happening in the summer. Nico has a release clause in the region of € 60 million, and although that is being activated is the only way for him to leave this summer, clubs are reportedly prepared to do that exactly.

It will be interesting to see where Nico came the start of the following season, but for now he stays with Athletic.
