Harry Kane was guilty of missing a babysitter for Bayern Munich in their quarter-finals against Inter Milan and his teammate Thomas Muller excluded the Miss as a big moment during the draw
Bayern Munich star Thomas Muller surprisingly pointed his finger on teammate Harry Kane after their 2-1 loss against Inter Milan while resting the big Miss of the English striker in the first half. The men of Vincent Kompany have to do it all in the quarter -final second stage of the Champions League after a scary defeat of the Italian side.
Inter scored via Lautaro Martinez and Davide Fratesi, after Muller himself was tied. But things could have been different if the former Tottenham star Kane had not picked his lines with a great chance with the scores a 0-0.
In the 25th minute Kane was played by Michael Olise in the box with the goal from about six meters, a position that you would bank on the double Premier League Golden Boot winner to score.
But Kane took it the first time and saw his efforts hit the edge of the distant pole before bouncing a goal kick.
It turned out to be precious as a little more than ten minutes later, Martinez broke the impasse to give the lead and Muller thought he had protected a late equalizer after tapping Konrad Laimer's Cross at home.
But Inter struck again a few minutes later when Frattesi slid home to make a breathless counterattack to give the benefit to the Serie A -side, and Muller couldn't help it, but express his frustration after the game.
Muller – who will leave Bayern this summer after 17 seasons – chose to concentrate on Kane's Miss while he was unioned the inability of the teams to convert their chances at night.
“Unfortunately we missed a big chance in the first half with Harry, that would have given us a different feeling,” he said.
“Inter has good players with the ball who can get the pace of the game and slow down and then play long balls at their strikers.
“They experienced and physical players – it was not a walk in the park and we did not expect it. We created opportunities in the second half, but unfortunately they could not convert.”
Muller's criticism of Kane comes despite the fact that the 31-year-old enjoys a fantastic season for the goal. This season he has 34 goals in 40 games and helps Bayern to make six points clear at the top of the Bundesliga.
In general since he came to Tottenham in 2023 for £ 100 million, Kane has scored 87 times in 85 performances, making him one of the most clinical strikers in Bayern's recent history.
