Bayern Munich has signed players from Premier League clubs and sold others in the opposite direction, and fighting with English clubs for new recruits
Bayern Munich -midfielder Aleksandar Pavlovic expressed his disappointment in Mathys Tel who left the club for Tottenham Hotspur. Tel joined Spurs on loan during the winter transfer window and has now made his move permanently in a deal with a value of almost £ 30 million.
Pavlovic, an international in Germany, was still in the Bayern Academy when Tel came to the Rennes club in 2022. The couple played together for Bayern more than 20 times, usually in the 2023-24 season, and started together for the last time in a victory in Champions League at Slovan Bratislava in January this year.
“Personally, I think it's a shame,” Pavlovic told Sky Sport Deutschland. “He was a very good friend of mine and that is still. In the end he and the club made the decision. Unfortunately it is.”
The permanent relocation from Tel to Noord -London was confirmed on Sunday. He will be the first new arrival of the Thomas Frank era, where manager Frank takes over from Ange Postecoglou.
The 20-year-old scored three goals in 20 performances during his loan saying, including two in the Premier League. He played in both legs of the semi-final victory of the Europa League over Bodo/Glimt, but was an unused replacement in the final when Spurs Manchester United defeated 1-0 to lift the trophy.
Tel will return after the current European Championships Under-21 Championships with his club colleagues. He is part of the French team for the tournament, just like colleague traces forward Wilson Odobert.
France claimed a dramatic late victory against Georgia after pulling their opener against Portugal, with Thierno Barry scored a winner of a stop time. A point against already eliminated Poles will go through to the quarterfinals-the stage in which they were eliminated in the 2023 edition of Thr Tournament.
Bayern's sale of Tel is hot on the heels of Leroy Sane's move to Galatasaray. Germany-wing player Sane has been to the Allianz Arena for the past five seasons, but has signed a three-year-old deal with a big money with the Turkish side.
Despite the changes of the team, Vincent Kompany's side made a winning start of their club World Cup campaign during the weekend. They claimed a huge 10-0 win against Oceania Champions Auckland City, with Jamal Musiala off the couch to score a hat trick.
“Job done. We really played seriously and did what to do,” said Bayern -Baas Kompany after the victory. “Target difference can be important in this group. We said in advance that it is about attacking perseverance in all probability.
“When a team leans back and defends well, it is not obvious that you score 10 goals. And that is why we could not have done much more today. The highlight for me was the defensive sprint of Jamal Musiala. And if you do that in this kind of game, then you have a good basis.”
