Bayern Munich will soon have conversations with “One of a” Vooruit Thomas Muller about a new contract, with his current deal that ends at the end of the season.
During a press conference on the occasion of Bayern's 125 -year anniversary, sports director Max Eberl also proposed the idea of ββa salary limit to curb wage inflation throughout Europe.
Muller is one is several controversial players who will no longer have a contract at the end of the season, alongside midfielder Joshua Kimmich, Winger Leroy Sane and defender Eric Dier.
Muller came through the youth system of the club and has made 738 performances for the club in all competitions and scored 247 goals.
He has won 32 trophies, including two Champions League crowns and 12 Bundesliga titles with the Bavarian Giants, but only 11 games started this season.
After playing a reduced role this campaign, the 35-year-old was recommended for an exit, but Eberl says that no decision has been made in his future.
“We will talk to Thomas, and then a decision will be made with regard to the new season,” said Eberl.
“Thomas is Bayern Munich, he is unique in his kind. He lives for football and always wants to achieve everything.”

This week, reports suggested that Bayern will probably not offer a new contract to Kimmich because of his financial demands, and Eberl believes that a salary limit in the top competitions of Europe would be favorable.
“It's a political question, a difficult question,” said Eberl. 'How do you want to regulate a free market economy? Is that correct?
“I spoke with Gianni Infantino about whether there is a chance that FIFA will be added. I think we need FIFA at the top to find a solution.
“I am always in favor of discussing, talking and thinking. There are certainly topics that can be discussed. That should be part of a test.”
Kimmich is sidelined with a hamstring problem and will probably miss the trip from Friday to Stuttgart, but head coach Vincent Kompany is convinced that other players will perform.
“We will solve it with our team. I have totally confidence in the boys who have to play. Joshua is not the first to fall away. Like the others, hopefully he is not too long,” he said.
“We have to solve this with the others who are 100%. We have always shown a reaction when we had injured players in the team. That is what we expect now.
“It is never easy to play against the second -placed team of last season.
“We have focused entirely on this competition and have not taken a step less in our preparation because this game is very important to us.”
With title Rivals Bayer Leverkusen who only travels to Eintracht Frankfurt on Saturday, Bayern has the opportunity to move 11 points clearly at the top of the Bundesliga.
