Beever-Jones revels in ‘surreal’ feeling after netting first England goal

Aggie Beever-Jones said it was a “dream come true” after scoring her first English goal in their 5-0 Thrashing of Belgium in their Nations League collision on Friday.

Beever-Jones, together with Chelsea teammate Kiera Walsh, was on goal for their country for the first time and completed a special competition at Ashton Gate for the Sarina Wiegman team.

England went forward in the 21st minute when Lucy Bronze, at the age of 130 in front of her country, threw a header that wriggled outside of Nicky Evrard after the wonderful ball of Lauren James in the box.

Millie Bright then doubled the benefit of the lion ribbons on the tranquility of the tranquility and bundled the ball home on the line after Beth Mead's tagging delivery was brought by bronze from a corner to the rear pole.

The result was undoubtedly set in the 67th minute when Brever-Jones, replaced by James for the second half, changed the cross of Home Mead up close to the box in the box.

It got even better for England shortly thereafter when Jess Park made a mistake on an error by Belgian captain Janice Cayman, racing to the goal and placed the ball past Evrard.

The icing on top of the cake was provided by Keira Walsh, who, at her 83rd appearance of England, found the back of the net for the lion ribbons for the first time.

The Chelsea midfielder collected the ball on the edge of the box and saw her shot bend in the top left corner.

A moment to remember forever!

Beever-Jones received her first call-up in May last year and played four games for England, but said that this moment was the best of her playing career so far.

“I was on loan in Bristol. I played earlier in this stadium and scored earlier, so I had a good feeling to come in,” said Beever-Jones.

“For me I am proud to keep my feet on the ground and work hard and for hard work you get moments like this one.

“I am so happy that I took it right and I had people around me, I had Niamh [Charles] Behind me who has helped me for so many years in recent years.

“It is so surrealistic and a dream come true.”

The lion ribbons are now unbeaten in their last six competitions and build real momentum for their deficiency defense at the European championships in the summer.

After the game, Wiegman spoke that her side had dropped the speed of their game after several changes, but said that her team came closer to their best.

“I think we dropped the second half that we had a little at the pace and then the Subs came in, and they brought the energy again, but also quality,” Wiegman said.

“And what I really like is that we kept it simple, so we didn't stop playing our own game. We kept playing our game, our English game, and it looked easy, but it is pretty difficult, and I really enjoyed it.

“I actually told the team that I just said, such as keeping it simple and staying together and everyone who came to the field was really ready to go and appear. On Tuesday it will be a different game, so now we win 5-0, we don't suddenly think we are at the best possible place.

“We know we have to improve things. Belgium is a completely different opponent and Spain was and then is Portugal.

“We know where we are and what we want to improve, and we work on it every day, and we must continue to have these connections because I feel that something is happening and we are getting closer.”

In the other match in group A3, defending champion Spain achieved their second victory of their group campaign with a 4-2 victory over Portugal in the Estadio da Capital do Movel.

Catarina Amado had put Portugal forward in the 27th minute, but Spain hit back with three Quickfire goals from Patri Guijarro, Laia Aleixandri and Claudia Pina for the break.

Carole Costa reduced the deficit 11 minutes after the restart from the penalty spot, but Spain replaced Esther Gonzalez for the victory in the final phase.
