Belal Muhammad has warned the UFC Midleweight Division that he might go up to face the winner of the next title fight.
Dricus Du Plessis will defend his title against Khamzat Chimaev later this year, probably in Abu Dhabi in October. The champion of 185 pounds has a number of lovers for his belt, including Alex Pereira and others, including Muhammad.
The focus of the Welterweight Champion is currently on UFC 315 and Jack della Maddalena. But when he comes through it, he might be willing to go up in weight and go for another belt in a brand new division.

Although he still has a number of contenders in Welterweight since he was defeated for the belt last year, Belal Muhammad is not shy about his plans in the future. While his teammate Islam Makhachev is thinking about a step of 170 pounds, he is also happy to be on a switch in time.
He must first come through his first title -Uitdager, who came in after Shavkat Rakhmonov was forced with injury. But then he told MMA Junkie that he would consider going and to combat the winner of Dricus du Plessis against Khamzat Chimaev.
“I know what to do first,” he explained. “I still have to win a few fights and then I can start talking about going up. We will see if [Du Plessis] Still has the belt at that time, he has a tough test for him with Khamzat.
“I don't think he will pass Khamzat, but maybe I'm still going there to make him around. I love that energy when people say 'oh he is too small' because I even get that at 170 pounds because I am not the biggest, strongest or fastest. What I am is the best and when I go to middleweight, I am also the best. “

Before he can even consider going up in weight, Mohammed would have to make an unbeaten line in the Welterweight Division. He ended Sean Brady's undefeated run and dethroned Leon Edwards who had only lost once under the UFC banner to get his belt.

“The landscape is going to happen, regardless of what we do or say and I have a tough task for me with JDM,” he continued. “We will go from there, I will never like to look way too far because you have all these plans, but then God has a plan.
“My plan was to beat Shavkat in December, it didn't happen. To beat him in May and it did not happen, so my eyes are aimed at someone else, I am locked up on him, he is now my bullseye and it is all that I am worried about. “
