UFC Welterweight Champion Belal Muhammad believes that he will get a large downgrade in the difficulty of the opponent at UFC 315.
Belal Muhammad and Jack della Maddalena Headline UFC 315 in May for the return of the UFC to Montreal. This is the long -awaited first title defense of Muhammad after withdrawn from UFC 310 in December due to injury.
This will easily be the most difficult test of Maddalena's career after a quick climb to the title shot. The best option of the UFC for the coming title shot, Shavkat Rakhmonov, is injured and has been put aside for an uncertain duration.
Muhammad vs. Maddalena was not the UFC 315 head event that most expected, but it has how much firepower regardless of. Muhammad believes that Maddalena is introducing his first UFC title shot with a gaping hole in his game for UFC 315.

During a recent performance on the Anik & Florian Podcast, Muhammad explained what he has seen from the recent battles of Maddalena that indicate a potential weakness.
“If I'm honest with you, I'm better everywhere,” said Muhammad. “People are going to say and ready to come out with 'oh he has hands, he has hands'. But I think they just underestimate my hands and my striking, and I just went against the best striker in the UFC in Leon Edwards. I train with the best strikers in the UFC in Ignacio Bahamondes, Yair Rodriguez and both boys … they are at a different level …
“So if I have a man who is fundamental in Jack, who just bokt. He has really good hands and good power, and he breaks a lot from these guys because he hasn't fought anyone. His biggest weakness is the experience, he has never had such a big fight. Never had a pressure fight, confronted with a pressure hunter. So I go inside and walk through him. “
The UFC-Unbeaten Maddalena comes in UFC 315 for recent victories over Gilbert Burns, Kevin Holland and Bassil Hafez. He earned a shot in the UFC through the Contender Series of Dana White in 2021.
Belal Muhammad in budding feud with Dricus du Plessis prior to UFC 315
If Muhammad passes Maddalena on UFC 315, a future middleweight movement could be the following for his career. He has been in a Word War with UFC Middleweight Champion Dric Du Plessis since the dominant victory of the latter over UFC 312 earlier this month.
Du Plessis gave a brutal response to some of the recent accusations of Muhammad about the middleweight division and claims that he is 'step on Belal's head' if they have ever fought. After a recent change to the UFC rule, Muhammad should leave the title of Welterweight to go to the middleweight.
Du Plessis defeated the long -standing opponent of Muhammad, Sean Strickland through a unanimous decision in their UFC 312 Rematch. Muhammad earned the Welterweight Championship by dethroning Leon Edwards last July.
But Du Plessis also has a superfight on his radar after his UFC 312 victory. The middleweight title holder and UFC Light Heavyweight Champion Alex Pereira agreed Verbally with a future fight during a backstage face-to-face.
First thing is the first for Muhammad while he is preparing to stop Maddalena's UFC-Unbeaten Run for his first defending defense of Welterweight.
