Real Madrid star Jude Bellingham was one of the driving forces behind their success last season, and although he has made a slower start this season, he has once again found his form in front of goal. Bellingham has hinted that the reason behind it could be a positional shift.
Bellingham only scored his first goal this season in November and was occasionally deployed wider on the right by manager Carlo Ancelotti as the Italian worked out how to fit Kylian Mbappe into the lineup. Since that first goal against Osasuna, Bellingham is now on a run of nine goals in seven games, getting his team through some tough moments.
The last of these was the winner against Atalanta in the Champions League in their 3-2 win. Speaking to CBS after the match, Bellingham confirmed he had spoken to Ancelotti about his position and was given more freedom again.
The combination with Mbappé, Vinicius Junior and Rodrygo Goes was difficult at times, but injuries meant Ancelotti could only play with two of that trio, with Bellingham behind them. If everyone is fit, it looks like Ancelotti will have a big decision to make, with Rodrygo most likely to drop out.
