Real Madrid may have left late, but isn't that their specialty? Jude Bellingham has made a habit of stepping up when his team needs it most, and he did so again in their first game of 2025.
Los Blancos got into trouble against Valencia and fell a goal behind in the first half. It took them some time to get into the right gear, but they noticed that their ears had been clipped several times. Bellingham took a penalty and beat Stole Dimitrievski, but not inside the post.
Moments later, Kylian Mbappe found the net, but was narrowly offside due to Bellingham's assist. And it looked like all hope was lost when Vinicius Junior was sent off with 15 minutes to go for putting his hand in Dimitrievski's face.
However, Luka Modric equalized for Real Madrid with just five minutes to go, and despite the man deficit this seemed all the more likely. As they pushed high, Bellingham was on a loose pass to convert the winner.
