The competition committee has confirmed a suspension for Real Madrid star Jude Bellingham, after his protests earned him a red card during their 1-1 draw with Osasuna. The English international will therefore miss two games.
Los Blancos had complained loudly about the decision and claimed that the 21-year-old did not insult the referee. In the report submitted by Jose Luis Munuera Montero, Bellingham is sent for deviating opinions after a complaint about the referee and then completing those complaints with 'F *** U' opposite the official.
Both Bellingham and Carlo Ancelotti noted after the game that it was a 'misunderstanding', and that the star had said 'f *** off' instead of 'f *** you', where the first claimed that one Expression was of an expression of frustration for itself. In the meantime, Ancelotti claimed that 'F *** off' was not offensive in English, which encouraged an absurd debate in Spanish media the following days.
Ancelotti doubled on Tuesday and claimed that he thought there was evidence that the prohibition was reduced or demolished, but that looks unlikely, since Bellingham got the minimum punishment. As noted by MD, the 'F *** off' competition committee considered a lack of discretion or illesness instead of an insult to Munuera. The first has a ban from two to four games, while the latter would have made a ban that lasts between four and twelve games.
Unless Real Madrid can prove that Bellingham did not say 'f *** off' to the referee, the prohibition will be. Bellingham apologized to ten men both after the game and the next day for left his teammates.
The consequences have been much more serious for Munuera, who, after important criticism from Real Madrid, found the subject of an investigation into his business activity for a potential conflict of interest on Tuesday. Munuera has denied every misconduct and mentioned a number of accusations.
