The departure of Tottenham Captain Heung-Min Son, a club legend at the age of 33, has a striking vacancy on the left wing behind and spurs have a very specific replacement in mind: Rodrygo of Real Madrid goes.
As previously reported, Tottenham closely followed the Brazilian international and even asked Madrid for permission to talk to him.
The reasons why Rodrygo could leave Real Madrid
Rodrygo, 24, is in the Bernabéu until June 2028 in the Bernabéu and has never publicly expressed the wish to leave. Yet his playing time under Xabi Alonso at the FIFA Club World Cup and the rise of teenage sensation Franco Mastantuono together with Breakout Vooruit Gonzalo GarcÃa did not help his status.
Money will not be the obstacle. The departure of Son makes Tottenham's highest salary free – more than $ 12 million a year – giving Spurs the flexibility to find out a tent. Rodrygo, whose natural position is on the left wing, could finally play in his preferred role, something he could rarely have done in Madrid with VinÃcius Júnior for him. But staying away will not be easy.
The recent boost of Tottenham from a new American investor and the Lure of Champions League football make the move more attractive, but chairman Daniel Levy is not ready to leave his careful strategy. Spurs are currently aimed at closing a deal with Bayern Munich for João Palhinha, the best request for new head coach Thomas Frank. Only after the landing will they decide the Portuguese midfielder whether they will put a definitive push for Rodrygo.
Liverpool could aim Rodrygo after the rejection of Isak
In London there is still skepticism about whether the deal can happen – partly because of the persistent interest of Liverpool.
The Reds postponed their “Rodrygo plan” after Alexander Isak came on the market. The Newcastle striker fits in with everything that Liverpool wants in a center – that should be Darwin Núñez.
Newcastle rejected a first bid of $ 153 million for Isak, and reports in England suggest that Liverpool will not make a new step for him, this window, despite the match of personal conditions until 2031 with one of the top three salaries of the club.
