Bologna led 0-2 in Turin through Dan Ndoye and Tommaso Pobega, before Juve fought back late through Teun Koopmeiners and Samuel Mbangula.
“We were so close to an extraordinary victory and we deserved it two-thirds of the way through the match,” Italiano told DAZN.
“We were punished for the little we allowed Juve. It's a shame how we handled that last ball, but the performance remains and we have to build on that. This is the kind of performance I wanted from the boys.
“It feels like we have thrown away two points, but there is another big game on Wednesday and we have to learn from this experience.
“The team would like to improve, but if we had had more time for training, we would have already made progress in the details. Unfortunately, Juve never gave up and what we did was not enough to get the win.”
Italiano also stated: “I'm not 100 percent happy because we were in a situation where we had to win in every possible way.
“For the rest, it was a different approach compared to our other games against the big teams. It's just a shame how we gave it away at the end.
“We will work on those details and I am pleased with the improvements I have seen.”
