Bournemouth, Brentford, Brighton and Fulham aiming for Europa Conference League via eighth-place Premier League finish

The race for the Champions League is very competitive – but there is still a mini battle in the middle of the table: the race for the eighth place and the UEFA Conference League.

With three games to go, four teams look in eighth place, which can guarantee European football – but it would also depend on the FA Cup End result on 17 May.

For Bournemouth, Brentford, Brighton and Fulham, the last few weeks of the season have been crucial. Here are the permutations …

How can the eighth become a conference competition?

This season England has five Champions League spots via the Premier League, which goes to the teams that end in the top five positions.

And they will also be accompanied by the winner of the Europa League final between Tottenham and Manchester United.

England also has two Europa League spots, which this season is going to sixth place and the FA Cup winners -we will soon be at the FA Cup -bit -bit.

The Premier League has only one Conference League place, which goes to the winners of the Carabao Cup. That is currently Newcastle, but they are on their way to being eligible for the Champions League or the Europa League.

The side of Eddie Howe has a chance of 76.9 percent on the top five, with another 16.3 chance to end up in the Europa League.

That would mean that Newcastle Conference League's spot would go to seventh place in the Premier League. However, there is still a turn.

If Manchester City the FA Cup wins on 17 May in the final against Crystal Palace and then ends in European places, the Europa League places of the Premier League will go to seventh place. And that would mean that eighth place is eligible for the Europa Conference League.

However, if Palace would defeat City in Wembley, they would be directly eligible for the Europa League, which means that the lock of the Conference League will stay in seventh place.

As a comment, Chelsea who may win the Europa Conference League, has no influence on the European places of the Premier League.

So who could end the eighth?

Bournemouth (8th – 53 points, GD 13)

The cherries of Andoni Iraola have already written history after they have gained a record points in total with five more competitions, but Bournemouth could add to it by first qualifying for Europe in their history.

The South Coast Club has their fate in its own hands. They are currently in eighth place with three more games left – but they have a number of difficult games coming.

They have to play Aston Villa and Manchester City in their next two games – with both opponents of Bournemouth who fight for Champions League football.

Bournemouth then organized Leicester relegated on the last day of the season, but will Europe be in their hands by that time?

Brentford (9th – 52 points, GD 9)

Just like Bournemouth, Brentford has never qualified for Europe before and would also represent an eighth place the highest finish of the bees in the Premier League.

The Side of Thomas Frank actually took the qualifying match from the Conference League to the last day in the 2022/23 season and defeated Manchester City, but they lost from Aston Villa who took the most importantly seventh place that day.

And the West Londers can boast the more favorable fixtures from all four teams that chase the conference competition. Their last three games are all at half of half of half – which includes a huge West -Londe derby from Fulham at the Gtech at home.

Brighton (10th, 52 points, GD 1)

Brighton has the most European experience from the four teams, which qualified for the Europa League under Roberto de Zerbi last season, before being eliminated in the last 16.

But the seagulls are currently against it and are weakened by having the lowest target difference of all four contenders with three more games. That 7-0 loss in Nottingham Forest came back to chase them.

To be eligible for Europe, the side of Fabian Hurzeler must finish for a colleague South Coast Club in BourenMouth and Rivals Brentford. Rivals, because there is a rivalry of the boardroom between Data-Gurus Matthew Benham and Tony Bloom, who both worked together before an uncivilized split.

Fulham (11th, 51 points, GD 3)

Fulham will also be looking for a return to Europe, after the Cottagers have famous the UEFA Cup final in 2010 under Roy Hodgson, before he lost in the final of Atletico Madrid.

However, the side of Marco Silva is in poor form, after they have lost three of their last four Premier League matches.

They have two games in Craven Cottage in the Home Straight -but the West -London derby in Brentford is almost must -win for Fulham.
