Bournemouth’s Huijsen refuses to rule out Real Madrid transfer

Dean Huijsen has refused to exclude a move to Real Madrid and revealed that his contract with Bournemouth contains a release clause, because speculation is in abundance about his future.

At the age of only 19, Huijsen has already made 25 Premier League performances in his debut season in England, while he also made his senior bow for Spain in March.

The promising defender was contracted to Bournemouth until 2030 and the cherries would like to keep him after an impressive first campaign since he arrived from Juventus.

Real Madrid is said to be among various clubs that show interest in Huijsen, and he has done little to play the transfer rumors by revealing his Bournemouth contract “includes a release clause”.

In an interview with El Chiringuito TV, the Center-Back was also asked if he would like to join Madrid, to which he answered: “I don't know, we will see.

“It's a big team. Every player wants to play at the highest possible level.”

When asked to mention his youth idol, the defender added fuel to speculation by selecting a Blancos icon and saying: “Sergio Ramos, since I was young.”

Madrid is expected to focus on Huijsen after seeing several important defenders, including Eer Militao, David Alaba and Ferland Mendy, struggling with injuries during the campaign.

Huijsen appeared twice before Spain in the recent international break and played in both legs of a Nations League quarterfinals victory over the Netherlands, the land of his birth.
