Brandon Moreno shut down KO artist with sickening liver kick to win UFC title fight

'The Assassin Baby' has been at the top of the flight weight department since he returned to the UFC in 2019.

After suffering back-to-back losses, Brandon Moreno took some time away before he returned to the Octagon in November last year.

The Mexican star made a statement with the dominant performance of Moreno against Amir Albazi and saw him breaking records on 125 pounds.

He is now back to Headline in Mexico City this weekend, where he will compete against former title -Uceg.

While he maintains this momentum, Moreno will try to recapture the shape that saw him produce a number of classic fighting for the flight weight title.

Brandon Moreno stopped Kai Kara-France with a pathogenic body skirt

Last from his trilogy of title fights with DeiveSon Figueiredo, Brandon Moreno had fought for a draw, won the fly weight belt and then lost it in their third meeting.

To bounce back, the former champion was linked to another top candidate in the Division for UFC 277, where an interim title holder would be awarded in Dallas, Texas.

Kai Kara-France has achieved big wins at Rogerio Bontorin, Cody Garbrandt and Askar Askarov to earn his first box of title on July 30.

The couple met each other back for the first time at UFC 245 in 2019, where Moreno won a unanimous decision in his second fight since returning to the UFC.

Due to the first two rounds of their Rematch, there was not much to split the two flying weights such as the score cards reflected.

One judge had bound it on 19-19, while one score card Moreno had won both rounds with the other with Kara-France Two Up.

The third round was again competitive with both men who increased their output considerably until 'The Assassin Baby' could close the show for 30 seconds before the championship rounds started.

While he followed after his opponent, Moreno unleashed a powerful Left Body Kick who immediately called Kara-France to the ground.

Some follow -up strikes forced referee Herb Dean to step in and as the commercial office noted, Moreno had used that technique during the fight, but as soon as one of them landed with destructive impact on his opponent, it was all she wrote.

Brandon Moreno is still at the top, but he is in a difficult position

Although his victory over Kai Kara-France may have taken place three years ago, Brandon Moreno is still one of the best flying weights in the world.

Two split decisions losses may have influenced its public perception, but that was quickly undone by his phenomenal performance previous time out.

The biggest problem with Moreno is that even if he can beat Steve Erceg in Mexico City, he has several losses for the current flight weight champion, Alexandre Pantoja.

It seems unlikely that another victory will give him a chance on Pantoja, but in the meantime he can continue to plead his plea because he is the best 125-ponder in the world who is not his former Brazilian enemy.
