Brandon Moreno vs Steve Erceg UFC Mexico City result: Emotional homecoming ends in victory for two-time champion

Brandon Moreno was taken by Steve Erceg to the score cards when he defeated the Australian in Mexico city.

A raw crowd in the CDMX Arena was rewarded with an All-Timer Fight Night Card with four knockouts and an entry, in addition to a few Banger decisions. The crowd, however, saved their biggest reaction for Moreno's Ring Walk when he returned home.

The two-time flight weight champion pushed to a final chance of champion Alexandre Pantoja, of whom Kai Kara-France is expected to be confronted. About the cage, however, was the recurring Erceg, who knew that a loss would end anything but his shot in the world of the world title.

The early exchanges between Steve Erceg and Brandon Moreno were for the time being, because both men stayed behind their legs and Jabs to start. However, two minutes in the hero of the hometown the crowd had a two-two-two the Australian.

While the first round went on, it seemed that Moreno landed large combinations as desired, although Erceg was not in Bursts without good shots. Every time the Mexican landed completely, it caused major reactions from the noisy audience.

The second was much more, even when Erceg opened a little more and landed early with a large staircase. 'Astro Boy' certainly seemed to have earned the respect of the former champion when he was given time to work in the middle of the cage.

The third was a much more lethargic affair, both men clearly understand that they would need gas further in the championship rounds. Erceg seemed to be happy to get his work on the back, but by the end of the fourth Moreno surprised viewers to shoot for a Takedown.

On the way to the fifth round, it was a razor-close fight on many scorecards. Neither man pushed the pace too much, but Moreno ended up at the top to finish the round while they went to the jury members.

All three jury members scored the fight for Moreno, while he continued his winning ways before giving an emotional interview to Daniel Cormier.
