Game is over and the final score is Brentford 2-2 Man City. Here is the match report.
Match report
Manchester City missed the chance to move up the Premier League table after being beaten to a 2-2 draw by Brentford.
Phil Foden, who was the hat-trick hero when the sides met at the Gtech Community Stadium last season, struck twice in the second half to put Pep Guardiola's side on course for a fourth straight win in all competitions.
The England midfielder broke the deadlock when he whipped home Kevin De Bruyne's cross shortly after Mikkel Damsgaard was denied by the offside flag, before doubling the lead from close range in the 78th minute.
However, the hosts refused to lie down and Yoane Wissa, who had earlier been denied the line by Nathan Ake, pulled a goal back in the 82nd minute to set up a grandstand finish.
Then, in the second minute of stoppage time, Christian Norgaard headed in Keane Lewis-Potter's cross to grab a share of the spoils for Thomas Frank's side.
Things almost got better for the Bees in the final moments, when Aké was forced to dodge Bryan Mbeumo's effort.
City are sixth in the table after failing to take advantage of Newcastle United only playing on Wednesday. Meanwhile, Brentford moved up to 10th after their dramatic fightback to avert a fourth successive home defeat in all competitions.
Data debrief: Monumental Wissa goal leads to Bees backlash
City have now lost 14 points from gaining positions in the Premier League this season, which is the highest total in a league match under Guardiola.
Foden had put the Citizens in a dominant position after taking his goal tally against Brentford to seven, while he only scored more against Brighton in the Premier League (eight).
However, Wissa's milestone goal sparked the Bees' revival. The striker became the club's all-time top scorer in the Premier League, surpassing Ivan Toney (36) with his 37th goal.
Norgaard then equalized from the 90th minute with Brentford's seventh goal in the English top flight this season, more than any other side.
