Brentford 2-3 Fulham: Wilson the hero again in pulsating West London derby

Harry Wilson was once again the torment of Brentford when Fulham back moist back to win a fascinating West-London Derby 3-2 in the Gtech Community Stadium on Sunday.

Wilson scored twice in a 2-1 victory in the reverse fixture of November and this time it was again the hero with a winner of the second half who came only two minutes after the levels of fellow replacement Tom Cairney.

Brentford had previously recovered from the 16th minute Opener of Raul Jimenez with Bryan Mbeumo and Yoane Wissa who held the bees, with the first also saw a penalty saved by Bernd Leno.

Christian Norgaard saved almost a point but was thwarted by Leno.

The side of Thomas Frank will remain for the time being, but can be overtaken by both Bournemouth and Brighton, while the victory of Fulham Marco Silva's men holds a chance of potential European qualification.

Wissa had already been refused by the time that Jimenez flocked his header past Mark Flekken after great work by Adama Traore, who then brought away sloppy possession to generate the events that Wissa was sliding in Mbeumo to fire Leno to level the game.

Mbeumo was thwarted by Leno from the spot after Joachim Andersen stumbled awkwardly Kevin damage, but Wissa applied the finishing touch after Norgaard had passed through the hands of Fulham's goalkeeper to improve Brentford shortly before the break.

Fulham was the same as the 68th minute when Cairney's snarling header found the top left corner and, only 120 seconds later, Wilson put the way to the back at the front with a great 25-year effort that nested low in the top left corner.

Norgaard's theatering header was kept low to the left of Leno in the final phase when Fulham saw the victory in a pulsating Premier League meeting.

Data debrief: first earn record points for Fulham as cottagers.

It was again Derby-Day Day for Wilson and by the Welshman (five) and Rodrigo Muniz (six), Fulham are the first side to score two players five-plus goals as a replacement in the same Premier League campaign.

Wilson's Heroics also saw Fulham reach 54 points for the season, which is the most that they have ever recorded in a Premier League campaign. It also represented the first time they had opened the score, had remained in the game and then returned to win in the Premier League (this marked the 57th time they first scored and followed).

Brentford will just wonder how they lost this game, but Mbeumo's first missed penalty for the club After 11 earlier successes looks expensive in the context of a game that waved in this way and that waved. The bees have now won six fines in the Premier League, more than any other team this season.

Mbeumo may have missed his Spot-Kick, but since the beginning of January only Mohamed Salah (16) has been directly involved in more goals in the Premier League than the 25-year-old (14-nine goals, five assists).
