Brentford approach Liverpool for Kelleher as Leverkusen close in on Flekken

Brentford has approached Liverpool with the signing of goalkeeper Cooimhin Kelleher – as Bayer Leverkusen comes close to Mark Flekken.

The West -London club is open to the sale of Flekken to the German club, who have just appointed Erik ten Hag as a manager, and there are also discussions in progress.

Brentford has since been interested in Kelleher before they signed Flekken, but Liverpool was only open to the sale of him since securing Giorgi Mhaldashvili from Valencia last summer.

Kelleher is deemed to compete for a starting place and the arrival of Mamardashvili means that it is the Georgian who will compete with Alisson next season.

Other clubs are interested in 26-year-old Kelleher, but Brentford is supposed to be in pole position and have a strong relationship with Liverpool, who secured Sepp Van den Berg from Anfield last summer.
