Brest have contacted the Stade de France as they consider using the 80,000-seat stadium as a temporary ground in the Champions League, according to a report by L'Equipe. Thanks to their 1-0 victory against Eredivisie champions PSV on matchday 6 of Europe's most important club competition, Brest have almost certainly qualified for at least the play-off rounds of the Champions League.
With 13 points out of a possible 18, the Ligue 1 team is currently in fifth place in the Champions League standings and must therefore prepare to continue playing in the tournament well into 2025. The club understands that Brest would not be able to host knockout champions League matches at their current temporary home – Guingamp's Stade du Roudourou – without some expansion and renovation work to the TV area.
The Roazhon Park in Rennes is also being considered, but L'Equipe understands that Brest's decision to move to the Stade de France will depend on the opponent's position.
