Brighton star Joao Pedro was reportedly absent in the 3-2 victory of the club against Liverpool after an alleged fight with a teammate during the training, according to reports.
The seagulls organized the Premier League champions in the midst of their post-title transfer, where the hosts claim to claim home victory that could keep European football in the game for next season.
But the home team was forced to claim the victory without Pedro, which was set to return to the team after serving a three-game suspension for a red card that was collected against Brentford in April.
Pedro was supposed to have thrown his arm recklessly to Nathan Collins, hit him on the face and leave him on the grass.
The 23-year-old received a straight red card that later was checked by VAR, who did not consider their review convincing and left the decision with referee Tim Robinson-and put the visitors on 10 men to see the 4-2 way.
But although Pedro had missed the previous Premier League against Wolves, his absence of the team was more a surprise on Monday.
Head coach Fabian Hurzeler described the gap in his team as due to 'private reasons' after full-time.
“(Tariq Lamptey) has an injury to his knee, and Joao had private reasons why he was not available,” Hurzeler said when he was pressed. “Let's see how it goes on.”
According to athletics, it is assumed that Pedro has been fighting with Jan Paul van Hecke in the run -up to the face with wolves on 10 May.
But while Pedro was sidelined, Van Hecke was available for the full 90 minutes, both against wolves and at the Amex against Liverpool on Monday evening.
Brighton refused to comment on the allegations when contacting the outlet.
Mail Sport has contacted Brighton for more comments.
Pedro is the joint top scorer of the club this season in the Domestic Top flight, with 10 goals to his name and were contracted to the club until 2028.
Van Hecke – who was the player of his club's season – previously compliments compliments about the fine skills of his teammate in March in March.
“I would put it all on him,” Van Hecke said after beating Fulham 2-1 when he was asked if someone else was, he would like to take a crucial fine.
The 24-year-old then started to compare him positively with Mohamed Salah.
