Jon Jones stood for a long list of former champions and legends during his incredible career.
Sharing the Octagon with many colleagues of all time is one of the reasons why his run is kept so high.
While Jones' long -term rivalry has continued with Daniel Cormier, there was a moment when it seemed to be done and dusted.
UFC 214 took place on this day in 2017, where Jones ended in the main event Cormier before the result was destroyed.
His performance may no longer be celebrated that way, but at that time 'Bones' was on top of the sport and he used his spotlight to call what would have been one of the greatest fights in the UFC history.

Brock Lesnar warned Jon Jones minutes after his UFC 214 Callout
During his interview after the fight on UFC 214 in Anaheim, California, Jon Jones took the time to thank Daniel Cormier before trying to comfort his emotional rival.
'Bones' then reconsider control of the microphone to make one last point and called former UFC heavyweight champion Brock Lesnar.
“Brock Lesnar, if you want to know what it feels like to get your A – kicked by a man who weighs 40 pounds less than you, meet me in the Octagon.”
The WWE super star had returned the Octagon at UFC 200 in the previous year to the Octagon on UFC 200, where he defeated Mark Hunt before the result was destroyed as a NO competition because he tested positively on a forbidden substance.
After exchanging a few comments during the Vechtweek for UFC 214, it took a few minutes for Lesnar to share his reaction to Jones.
Lesnar gave the light heavyweight champion a threat when speaking with Associated Press shortly after the main event ended.
“Be careful with what you want, young man.”

Dana White tried the excitement around a potential fight between Jon Jones and Brock Lesnar
Speaking at the press conference after the fight after UFC 214, Dana White was asked about Jon Jones' callout from Brock Lesnar and whether the matchup could happen.
He revealed that Lesnar had already responded through the aforementioned interview with Associated Press, but dragged every excitement around it because of the kind of time frame that would have the fight.
“I don't know … Listen, Lesnar would take six months before he even went through USADA to fight. So it's nice to talk about, but the reality that it happens quickly is not a reality.”
Lesnar later appeared on UFC 226, where he shared a heated moment in the Octagon with Daniel Cormier, although nothing never came from this and the former champion did not participate since UFC 200.
