Daniel Cormier thinks that Brock Lesnar was smart to prevent a certain blow in the UFC by staying in the world of professional struggling.
Lesnar, a former UFC champion heavyweight that was initially familiar with the WWE, appeared in the Octagon in 2016 and returned to UFC 200 for his first fight in five years.
After Lesnar's victory over Mark Hunt was destroyed to a NO match due to a failed drug test, it was talked about another comeback in 2018 when he appeared on UFC 226.
After Cormier's title -winning performance about Stipe Miocic in the main event, 'The Beast Incarnate' entered the cage. Cormier and Lesnar stood opposite each other and culminated in the last to push the newly crowned heavyweight king.
Although that heated moment seemed to have put a future confrontation and was followed by Lesnar who took steps to return to the USADA drug test bath, the Pro Wrestler put pen on paper on paper with WWE instead.
Daniel Cormier says that Brock Lesnar's UFC comeback would not have gone well
During an interview with Demetrious Johnson on his MightyCast podcast earlier in July, Cormier thought about his argument with Lesnar on UFC 226 and the ultimate collapse of their planned fight.
'DC' acknowledged that Lesnar made the smart choice in WWE, where he was able to earn huge salary without being the risk of being 'killed' in a real fight by the former Tweedivisie UFC champion.
“Brock played us, man,” said Cormier. “Brock came up with the idea that – he always has an open door because he is such a big star.
“Brock actually came and then the WWE paid him more to stay. They paid him more. We danced the dance for a while. It had Brock and I could be when I fought Derrick Lewis in New York.
“But they paid him so much to stay,” Cormier continued. “He was such a big star there that he could earn money to do that and do nothing with suplexing or fighting in the Octagon, and I try to kill him.
“Yes, he made the best choice.”
Brock Lesnar's daughter told you to step into his UFC footsteps
Brock is far from the only sporty powerhouse in the Lesnar family, because his daughter, Mya, also makes a name for himself in the track and field rich. She was NCAA Indoor Shot Put Champion last year and won the 2025 NCAA Outdoor Championships.
Although her combat athletes experience is limited, Mya was recently called by the daughter of Lesnar's largest UFC rival. 'The Beast Incarnate' went 1-1 over two fights against Frank Mir, whose daughter Bella became the first to received a NIL deal from UFC in 2023.
In conversation with MMA fights, Bella discussed her flourishing MMA career and the opportunity to share the cage with Mya Lesnar along the line.
“It's funny that you say that about Mya Lesnar, the number of people who asked me if I want to fight her and do the Brock Lesnar-Frank Mir trilogy in the daughter,” Bella said.
“I know that Dana (White) would approve 100% if Mya moisture.
“So mya lesnar, if you ever hear this, you have to train and we could just have a bit of a fight. Because that would be great,” she continued. “She is athletic; she will take it down. She trains for a year? That would be insane. To be honest.”
