Roy Keane Bruno Fernandes Bruno Fernandes and his Manchester United teammates 'Bluffers' after the club reached a new low point in Newcastle on Sunday.
A 4-1 defeat in St James' Park confirmed that United will end with their lowest points in total in the Premier League history.
Afterwards, Captain Fernandes admitted that 'it is easy to criticize because this club has never suffered this', but tried to unite for the Europa League stage on Thursday against Lyon.
Former United -Schipper Keane, however, was not impressed and still aimed a width at his old club on Sky Sports. “Bruno does in the front but it's just sound bites now,” said Keane.
“There is no meaning to it. I don't know how we can listen to the interviews of the United Players more, because I am not sure if they are a fair group.
'He keeps talking about having faith in his teammates, but real good teammates set demands on each other. These are not teammates, they are bluffers.
'If I listen to Bruno, a great player, I still have questions about his leadership. He certainly doesn't get any help around him.
'Newcastle was excellent. I think United is now physically and mentally a weak team. Ruben Amorim scratches his head. I bet he can't believe how bad this man of the man is United. '
United received a chestnut 14th Premier League defeat of the campaign by an unbridled Newcastle, which was the same as their record for most losses in a single season in the trial.
Sandro Tonali and Alejandro Garnacho both scored in the first half, before a Harvey Barnes Brace and Bruno Guimaraes finish the back of an Altay Bayindir error, Newcastle gave a final 4-1 victory.
United had seen some positive results in recent weeks and showed signs of running a corner to run at the end of a campaign with which they reached record depths in the Premier League era.
Yet that progress was given a big blow, and for a seasonal quarter -final second stage against Lyon in the Europa League, Captain Fernandes insisted that the eyes were already set on Thursday's collision.
“It is the opinion of the people. We are not stupid, we know the position we are that it is easy to criticize, because this club has never been the case. If you play for Manchester United, you know that the criticism will be there.
'Thursday is big to get in the semi -final, we are going to play at home, we are going to play for our fans. They will be there for us on Thursday. It is time for us to understand that we have to give something back. We always try.
'You have even seen myself frustrated. I know we are much better than we have been. My teammates I only get frustrated because I know how good they are.
'We are going to create a big atmosphere, we want to give everything we have.
'I don't have to believe, I have to see what we have done in the past. We play our best football in decisive games where everyone watches. We are husband United, we have to perform and I am pretty sure that we will be together. '
Fernandes was collected late in the competition with Amorim's attention that already focused on the Europa League collision on Thursday with Lyon.
Winning the competition is United's last realistic opportunity to obtain Champions League qualification and to save something that looks like the success of an Under-Par campaign.
