Bruno Fernandes was unable to inspire Manchester United in the victory in the Europa League final against Tottenham in Bilbao and the captain of Red Devils has made a revelation about his future
Bruno Fernandes admitted that he would understand if Manchester United would decide to sell him this summer. The United Skipper is determined that he is happy to stay in Old Trafford even though he has confronted a season without European football.
But he also said that he would accept a situation in which the United Hierarchy decided that it would be best to try to earn some money back for their Star Mid -Mid -Vielder, who will be 31 in September 31. Fernandes said: “If the club thinks it's time to separate because they want to come up with some money or whatever, it is what it is. And football is sometimes like that.
“I have always been honest. I have always said that I will be here until the club says it is time to go. I am enthusiastic to do more, to be able to take the club to the great days. On the day the club thinks too much or it's time to do ways, football is that way, you never know. But I always have my word the same way” “
It is the first time that Fernandes – who came to the club in January 2020 and whose current contract was left for two years to walk with an extension option of one year – has spoken about the possibility that he might leave Old Trafford. And his situation can become more complicated when Ruben Amorim leaves this summer.
But that is not a prospect that Fernandes would be welcomed, although he acknowledges that the disastrous series has put his countryman under heavy pressure. Fernandes said: “We (the players) just agree that he is the right man. He has done many good things. We know that the manager is being viewed by the results.
“But we see more than that as players. We know that it will go for everyone that he will return the positivity to the club – to bring the club back to fight for trophies, to fight for the big trophies. And we all agree that he is the right man.
“It's not my decision, but I think the manager is the right one and I don't think it will be a better person to get to work and do the work. I know it's hard to understand that, it's hard to see that.
“And I think the club is in a situation where it is easier to get another because the results have not been there. But as my other teammates said – and I repeat myself – I think he is the right man.”
Should Manchester United Bruno Fernandes sell? Say in the commentary part.
Fernandes could not inspire his team in Bilbao and described the 1-0 defeat against tracks as 'cruel'. In the aftermath of the loss, he said: “It's a very sad day because we have done some very good things in this competition until today.
“But today was the day that mattered, the most important day of the competition. It was the day that we could have been in the history of the Europa League, but it is not that cruel, and it is our turn to lose.”
