Bruno Fernandes’ team-mate tells him to make Saudi transfer as Man Utd star considers move

Captain Bruno Fernandes of Manchester United has a mega-false offer on the table of Saudi Arabia and he is now encouraged to take it by a former Premier League star

Bruno Fernandes has been encouraged to leave the Premier League and say yes to a lucrative proposal from Al-Hilal by Ruben Neves, the Portugal teammate of the Manchester United Captain.

Fernandes, 30, currently weighs a mega money offer to move to the Saudi Pro League after the worst Premier League campaign from United ever. And after he admitted that he could leave Old Trafford this summer, the agent of Middeld Maestro, Miguel Pinho, held 'positive' conversations with Al-Hilal's Powerbrokers in Riyadh this week.

Losing a player of the quality of Fernandes would be a bitter blow to Manchester United and, under usual circumstances, it seems unlikely that they would even consider cashing in.

But the needs of the club to rebuild under Ruben Amorim with a limited budget, plus their failure to qualify for the Champions League, means that they would find it difficult to reject the 100 million that Al-Hilal is said to be willing to offer them for their talisman.

And Neves, the former Wolves star who changed the Premier League for Saudi Arabia two years ago, says he would recommend the move to one of his colleagues in Portugal.

“Of course I recommend all players in the national team,” he told a Bola. “Fortunately, Portugal has produced a lot of talent and remains a happy country in that respect.

“We are also very hardworking. A very small country, but a country that has produced excellent players. Yesterday we saw four of our players (Gonçalo Ramos, Joao Neves, Nuno Mendes and Vitinha) lifting the Champions League.

“It is an excellent sign for Portugal. I would like to have a player from the national team in my team.”

While Saudi interest in Fernandes is nothing new, Al-Hilal wants the captain of Manchester United to give them a decision about a movement in the following week.

Fernandes is under contract with Old Trafford until 2027 and has been at some distance – the best player of the Red Devils during a challenging era. The club ended 15th this season in the Premier League under Amorim, who could not improve their form after following Erik ten Hag in November.

Recent reports have indicated that Fernandes gives 'serious consideration' about a movement after comments he made after the Europa League final. He threw his future into doubt after the loss of United against Tottenham and said: “If the club thinks it's time to separate because they want to do some money or whatever, it is what it is.

“Football is sometimes so. I have always said that I will be here until the club tells me it is time to go.

“I would like to do more to be able to take the club to the great days. The day the club thinks I'm too much or it's time to separate, football is that way, you never know. But I have always said it and I keep my word in the same way.”
