Captain Bruno Fernandes from Manchester United is the target of Al-Eittihad in the final phase of the summer transfer window.
Sunsport understands a meeting between the Saudi giants and the camp of Fernandes has already taken place.
Fernandes rejected the progress of Al-Hilal in June, but the first contact between Al-Eittihad and the player would have been positive.
Al-ittihad really wants to add the Portugal International to their ranks.
Sources have said that Sunsport Fernandes, 30, the Saudi Pro League outfit has asked for a contract worth a total of £ 33 million a year.
At the time, Fernandes admitted that he would be willing to leave Old Trafford if the club wanted to cash in.
Fernandes said: “I have always been honest.
“I always said that I will be here until the club tells me it's time to go.
“I would like to do more to be able to bring the club the great days.
“On the day the club thinks I'm too much or it's time to separate, football is that way, you never know.
“But I always said it and I keep my word in the same way.
“If the club thinks it's time to separate because they want to come up with some money or whatever, it is what it is, and football is sometimes so.”
Fernandes would see a move to Al-Eittihad with people like Karim Benzema, Moussa Diaby and N'Golo Kante.
United has been working on the transfer market and tries to improve the team for Ruben Amorim manager.
The club spent more than £ 200 million on Forwards Bryan Mbeumo, Matheus Cunha and Benjamin Sesko.
The trio all shot spaces in their Premier League opener against Arsenal, but showed some promise.
The club does not seem to have been done yet, because there is interest in Brighton and Hove Albion star Carlos Baleba.
The midfielder is seen as an important target to strengthen the club in the middle of the field.
However, the seagulls do not want to lose one of their stars and appreciate him in more than £ 115 million.
This makes the club let their interest in the former Lille aas cool, but they could return before the window will be closed on 1 September.
