Bruno Fernandes has again been associated with a sensational move to the Saudi Pro League – a month after rejecting.
But this time a narrow reunion with his teammate of Portugal Cristiano Ronaldo is on the maps.
The Manchester United Maestro was the subject of a stunning proposal of £ 200 million from Al-Hilal earlier this summer.
Fernandes, 30, eventually rejected the mega offer, whereby the midfielder wanted to stay in the Premier League.
Ronaldo, 41, himself recently signed a record -breaking £ 492 million extension, after flirting with an exit this summer.
Fernandes would become a member of Ronaldo, Otavio and more recently Joao Felix in Riyad was completed as a deal.
But despite reports, it seems unlikely that Captain Fernandes would deal with his decision to stay in Old Trafford.
The announcement of his decision to stay in Manchester in June, Fernandes said in a statement: “It would have been an easy step.
“I had Ruben Neves and Joao Annalo (near Al-Hilal), two people with whom I have a great friendship.
“But I want to stay at the highest level, play in large competitions, because I still feel capable.
“There was an opportunity. The president called me and asked if I wanted to go there. They waited for me.
“I spoke with Ruben Amorim and he asked me not to go. Manchester United didn't want to sell me. They don't need the money.
“If I wanted to leave, they would have let it happen.”
Not that he had to, but Fernandes again showed his value while he scored United's two first goals of the preseason against West Ham.
Amorim will need him next season if the club gets the chance to reverse their gloomy year last season, when they finished 15th in the Prem and the Europa League final lost to Spurs.
United has so far been reinforced this summer with Bryan Mbuemo and Matheus Cunha that merge for £ 133 million.
United is said to work on a deal to fight in Newcastle for RB Leipzig frontman Benjamin Sesko.
Toon submitted their first Sesko bid on Saturday.
