Captain Bruno Fernandes of Manchester United has been named the Premier League player of the month for March.
As reported by the official website of the Premier League, it is the fifth time that Fernandes has won the prize, but his first in almost five years.
All earlier awards from Fernandes came in 2020 – the year in which he came to United – while triumphing in February, June, November and December.
Last month Fernandes had four targeted involvement because United was unbeaten in the Premier League.
The Portuguese star scored a free kick in a 1-1 draw Arsenal and was also on the score sheet against Leicester-A match in which he gave two assists.
When winning the prize for the fifth time, Fernandes has matched the performance of two former United Stars.
Wayne Rooney and Robin van Persie both won the Player of the Month prize five times five times, with three of the successes of the latter when he was in Arsenal.
Harry Kane, Sergio Aguero and Mohamed Salah are at the forefront with Seven Player of the Month Awards.
Steven Gerrard and Cristiano Ronaldo now both won the prize at six times.
When winning the prize for March, Fernandes abandoned Arsenal's Declan Rice.
Nottingham Forest couple Anthony Elanga and Nikola Milenkovic were also nominated together with Jean-Ricner Bellegarde van Wolves and Brighton's Jan Paul van Hecke.
In the meantime, Bosbaas Nuno Espirito Santo has won the Premier League Manager of the Month Award for the third time this season.
Nuno previously won the prize in October and December 2024, while he has now won the award a total of seven times.
For his latest price, Nuno was selected for the United Baas Ruben Amorim and Fabian Hurzeler from Brighton.
Forest beat Manchester City 1-0 before he won 4-2 against Ipswich.
Nuno's side is currently in third place in the Premier League while they want to qualify for the Champions League.
