Portugal finally sustained 5-2 winners in the night and scored twice in extra time to continue to the semi-final.

But it was a penalty miss from the 40-year-old who had spoken to social media on Sunday.

Ronaldo stepped up to take the Spot-Kick only five minutes in the game in Lisbon's Estadio Jose Alvalade.

Fans with eagle eyes saw Fernandes up his arms up while Ronaldo started his run -up.

The man Utd and Real Madrid legend, after stuttering in his run-up,, however, hit a weak spot kick low to the left to the left of Kasper Schmeichel, which was easily saved.

A fan laughed at X: “The biggest Jinx SMH.”

Another said, “Ronaldo rumbled the bag, Fernandes always knew it.”

While a third added: “He thinks he's still that guy.”

And a fourth claimed: “Bruno did not fourth. He thought I should have taken the horsepower, he was right.”

Ronaldo hit back to “disrespectful” reporters prior to the collision in Lisbon.

The Al Nassr attacker had not scored in the Nations League before Sunday and was asked about his potential pension from international football.

Ronaldo replied: “I have the feeling that there is a lot of negativity in the national team.

“I have looked at a few press conferences in recent days – I didn't like what I saw, I don't like it.

“And to be honest, some questions you asked were just disrespectful.

“If you want answers from me, look into the eyes when you ask.

“It makes no sense to ask me something and then look at your computer.

'You have time for that later. If necessary, I will say it ten times. “

Portugal will now come across Germany in the semi -final of the competition, with the first stage on June 4.
