Bruno Fernandes has expressed his frustration about the gloomy season of Manchester United after the Premier League ended on Sunday.
United has largely been Shamolic in 2024-25, with the side of Ruben Amorim in 15th place after losing 18 of their 38 games and picking only 42 points.
The Red Devils also ended the campaign trophy and reached various new depths, including the last defeat on Wednesday of the Europa League by Tottenham after a gentle and non -inspiring view.
That loss may have harmful consequences for the financial future of United after they have missed the qualification for European competition for the first time in 11 years.
And Fernandes, who has been one of the few positives of the season with 19 goals and 20 assists in all competitions, thinks in the past nine months after United Wonded 2-0 with 2-0 against Aston Villa.
“It wasn't even about Bilbao, it was about the full season,” Fernandes said when he was asked to show a response from the spurs defeat.
'It is very disappointing for everyone, but for the fans in the first place, and that is what I tried to send in the for the game for my players.
'We had the entire stadium today after a disappointing season after a disappointing Wednesday, they were here again, tried to lift us, tried to be positive and give a lot of energy to the team.
'And for us it just tried to give a different picture in this last game of the season. Of course you play with a little more freedom, you are not busy, because the position in the competition would not change much.
“But everyone played a brilliant game. We were very comfortable on the ball, very brave of the ball. And I think this is a brilliant reaction, but we have to bring this for the next season. '
United was much better on Sunday and their victory condemned Villa to the Europa League when they won their first league match since March.
And Fernandes thought that the display should be a marker for next season, although he also expressed his frustration about where such a performance had been the majority of the campaign.
“This is exactly what I told Cas (Emiro) at the end of the game,” he added. 'I was the most frustrated by me is that we can perform in this way against one of the most consistent teams in the competition.
'This season Aston Villa is a very difficult team to play against, very well -organized, very good players on the ball, and then you can fix them, play, create opportunities, do not give away any risk.
“And it's hard to understand that we can't do this during the season. But I clearly understand that the pressure of playing for this club is huge and today we had a lot of freedom to go to the game and just enjoy it.
'We wanted to give something back, something else, the fans show that we want this so much to be better, to be more successful and everything.
“But we want clearly that this belief will continue to go the next season. And as the manager says, the clear days are coming. '
The future of Fernandes is a subject that in question remains in the following season, with the captain of United the subject of an offer of £ 100 million from Saudi-Arab side Al-Hilal, who is willing to offer him a three-year contract with a basic £ 700,000 per week and up to £ 65 million, including registration costs and bonussen.
United does not want to sell him, but the club is even greater financial pressure after the financial consequences of the final defeat of the Europa League.
After that match, Fernandes admitted that he could be sold to balance the books and say: “If the club thinks it's time to separate because they want to come up with some money, it is what it is, although that situation will probably become clearer in the coming weeks.
