The first round was close and competitive on the feet. Silva seemed to have the intention of presenting and packing, the UFC commentators and fans in the Arena of 19,500 capacity speaks.
Silva landed a rotating kick before he locked a guillotine choke when he started to get seriously to complete the fight when the first five minutes ended.
The Fighting Nerd scored an early knock -down in the second Stanza before removing all the gripping attempts from his entry specialist opponent.
He finally locked his own choke and forced Mitchell to tap up for the second time in his 20 -fight career.
Mitchell's crane, however, came too late and he remained unconscious on the UFC Octagon floor.
Silva stood over his rival and barked in the face before he walked away to celebrate his best victory so far.
