Crystal Palace star Ebereechi Eze seemed to end at Tottenham Hotspur, but a final attempt by Arsenal to secure his signature now seems to have won the English international
Bukayo Saka may dropped a subtle hint that Ebereechi Eze could come to him at Arsenal earlier this month. The Gunners came in for the eleventh hour for their bitter rivals, Tottenham Hotspur for the Crystal Palace -Vleugel player.
Spurs seemed to have secured their husband. However, the side of Mikel Arteta made it clear that they would achieve the asking price of Palace of £ 68 million, while they match the conditions with the English star, take off an incredible capet in the late stage. A switch to the Emirates Stadium will see Eze participate in some of his international teammates, one of which is Saka.
Before the new season started, Saka posted photos on his Instagram story that showed him that he visited the New Balance store in London.
In one of the snaps there is a large statue of Saka, in addition to a representation of new balance football. Just before the photo of the Arsenal star is a much smaller photo of Eze. Subtle? Indeed. A coincidence, in which Eze also has a partnership with the Sportswear brand? Maybe.
With recent events that perspire how they are, however, it is safe to say, although the placement of the photo of Eze in the story of Saka was perhaps coincidental, it now looks like a deliberate hint of the 23-year-old that he might know all the time that his teammate of England would come to North London.
Palace chairman Steve Parish and Tottenham owner Daniel Levy were locked up in conversations about a deal for Eze. Nevertheless, Eze was always preferred at Arsenal – the club where he spent time in the academy – and that turned out to be crucial to lure him back to the Gunners.
The athletic reports that after he had previously been dropped off by the asking price, Arsenal indicated that they will pay the release clause that expired last Friday.
Arsenal Sporting Director Andrea Berta and vice-chairman Tim Lewis worked quickly to reach an agreement, with which Eze undergoes a medical after playing for Palace in their play-off match of the Conference League against Fredrikstad on Thursday evening in Selhurst Park.
However, Palace could still omit him from the draw to prevent the risk of injury before his Arsenal Medical.
Palace's insisting that every deal is put on hold until after their play-off match of the Conference League, eventually helped to end the chances of Spurs to land, because it gave Arsenal the time to dive.
The Gunners did not hide their admiration from Eze, but had withdrawn from a deal in recent weeks, so Spurs apparently had a free run. A knee injury to Kai Havertz, however, led Arsenal to action.
Arsenal has already spent more than £ 200 million this summer on Viktor Gyokeres, Martin Zubimendi, Noni Madueke, Crithian Mosquera, Christian Norgaard and Kepa Arrizabalaga.
And adding Eze to their arsenal will certainly strengthen their push for the title. Eze has made 167 performances for Palace since he came to Queens Park Rangers in 2020 in a deal of £ 17 million. The 27-year-old played 43 times in all competitions for Palace last season, scored 14 goals and offered 11 assists.
In the meantime, Thomas Frank in Tottenham is still desperately liking to add a creative spark to his team after losing James Maddison to a serious knee injury, while son Heung-min also left this summer. Mohammed Kudus has arrived from West Ham, but further reinforcements are certainly necessary.
