Bukayo Saka sends an emotional message to Arsenal fans after making goalscoring return from injury

Bukayo Saka has sent a sincere message to Arsenal supporters after his dream return from an injury on Tuesday evening.

The English star was out for more than three months with a hamstring injury, but only needed seven minutes on the field to score in Arsenal's 2-1 victory over Fulham.

Saka received a huge reception from the Emirates -with a lot of time when he was taken off the couch in the 66th minute to replace Teenage Wonderkid Ethan Nwaneri.

And the 23-year-old paid back his supporters when he nodded home up close in the 73rd minute to double the lead of Arsenal after the first half of Mikel Merino.

The header of Saka turned out to be the winner when Rodrigo Muniz withdrew a late goal for the visitors, with the side of Mikel Arteta for all three points.

Saka went to X on Wednesday afternoon to thank Arsenal fans for the reception they gave him during his comeback.

“I have to acknowledge and thank you all for the energy and love that you showed me last night,” he posted.

'I have never seen or felt anything like what I felt at the Emirates last night. I will never forget that. Really grateful! #Godschild '

With Liverpool comfortable in the front in the Premier League table-the victory on Fulham, the shortage of Arsenal cut to nine points-the Gunners' season is likely to run on their Last-Eighty game from Champions League with Real Madrid.

With the visit of the European champions just a week away, the triumphant return of Saka was the best news of the night for Arteta, but the Fulham victory did not come without costs.

The most important defender Gabriel stumbled with a hamstring injury in the first half. Jurrien Timber also had to be replaced by a knee problem in the second half, while Ben White and Riccardo Calafiori did not succeed in making the MatchDay team with their own injuries on Tuesday.

This lets Arteta sweat on the fitness of four important defenders prior to the quarterfinals of the next Tuesday at the Emirates.

After more than 100 days, Saka looked sharp on the sidelines and will insist to start when Arsenal takes the side of Carlo Ancelotti.
